My favorite time of day

For me 5-7 p.m. seems to be the craziest time of day. With 3 young ones this period is filled with cooking dinner, eating dinner, cleaning up dinner (no wonder I am always looking for an excuse to order-in), baths, clean-up, making sure everything is ready for school the next day, and there always seems to be some sort of crisis to be solved! But by 7:00 p.m. I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel….bed-time is right around the corner. Everyone is squeaky clean, bundled in jammies, eating their bed-time snack (an apple) and curled up listening to a story. Such a precious time of the day!

By 7:30, my 3 little angels are tucked into bed, prayers are said….we all hear Tori’s loud “AMEN”, and off to lala-land they go! Oh, I love spending time with my kids but by evening I am ready to kiss them goodnight!

So what is your favorite time of day and why?

What a precious picture :o)

Morning is my favorite. I'm usually up by 5. It is so quiet and peaceful. Not a sound except the birds chirping away. When my husband gets up we each get a cup of coffee and sit down to read our Bible and other devotionals & another book (we always have a book we are reading together - right now it's Myles Monroe's Rediscovering the Kingdom) then we prayer together. Then we have toast and cereal. It is such a special time and we have done this for YEARS!!! If something happens and we miss this special time the day just doesn't go as good.

AMEN!! I love bed time. I am a stay at home with a 6,5, and 2 year old. So when bed time comes I am ready. I love my kids and we have so much fun together all day, but there is a 7:30 bed time for a reason. Usually I am exhausted and ready for to sit and relax for the first time.

I remember the days when the girls were little and I felt just like you. I loved that time right after dinner when we did baths. Everyone was clean and ready to snuggle. Our kids always had early bedtimes. I loved it!

Now I like 8-9pm when I settle in to relax. Now that Jenna moved and Alicia is at work or school our house is pretty quiet. It's a peaceful time.

my favorite time is the time you described...played out the way you described it. 7:30???? holy cat's not happening here, EVER! we're lucky if we've finished supper by 7:30, especially now with summer knocking on our door.

i like the time of day when dad gets home from work. even though he often just comes in and sits or has something he needs to do, seeing that the reinforcement has arrived, i feel the extra energy surge and actually believe that i might win the war.

I love early morning also. I get up and walk with my friend at 5:30 and its so quiet and the birds are chirping away. I also love the time in the evening right around sunset. Our family loves to be outside at this time because you can hear the hustle and bustle of the day wind down and all is quiet in the land!

Enjoy that nice early bed-time while it lasts. It won't be long before the kids start creating a bit of their own routine and staying up a lot later. My best time is in the morning once they are all on the bus. That's when I come hang out with you guys.

Sweet picture! The kids are so clean!!! hee

5:00-8:00 seems to be our crazy time of the day doing those exact same things: supper, baths, reading and etc.

I like early afternoon quiet time: rest or nap time. I also like the quietness after the kids have gone to bed.

You described my favorite time of the day perfectly, but just as Heidi said....how do you get them to bed at 7:30???? If we have an extremely busy day of running around and no naps, I can get them in bed by 8 but that is the earliest, otherwise they would be out of their beds numerous times before going to sleep. Please share your secrets!!!
Things really quite down around here about 9:00 pm and I LOVE the quiet time before bed.

I'm really enjoying hearing your favorite times of the day. Susan, yours is really special! I sooo want to be a morning person and so am not! :-(

About the bed-time...I am not sure how that happened. Strange thing is when I moved here I had 2 children ages 2 and 4 and they went to bed at 8:00 now there are more and they are older yet 7:30 seemed to set in and they are out cold within minutes..sometimes if it has been a long day even 7:00. Now on the flip side they are up by 6:15 a.m.

My favorite time is around 8:15am when Abigail goes down for a nap (she's up around 7am). She does this nap great so it's not a battle and then I get time for a shower and my devotions.

I try for a 7:30 bedtime, but it's usually 8 or 8:30 before she's really out. I'm not giving up though. :) You give me hope!

I suppose my favorite time of the day is when me and my roomies get together and make dinner. There are those days where we fend for ourselves...but for the most part dinner is a big to-do. The best part I suppose is not making it, but enjoying it as we settle in for our favorite prime time TV shows. That's what ya do on a week night when ya don't have kids or a hubby. :)

My favorite time of day is between the hours of midnight and 4 a.m. The house is quiet, I can think (usually about sleeping, but I try to fight it), and I can blog in peace. Of course, you guys aren't up at that time, are you.

I'm actually like Susan. I can survive on five or six hours of sleep. It ain't pretty the next morning, but I manage to get through the day. Oh! I nap from 8:30 p.m. (when my son goes to bed) until midnight.

Just mom... I very well might be up!

Not having children or an outside job, I will confess that my schedule is how I make it.... So I guess Sunday morning is my favorite!
Do to Jack's works schedule we typically attend the 9:15 service, I come home, put on my napping/nascar garb, have a cup of hot coffee (yes I still sleep) snuggle into my recliner, with the "sleeping blanket" and my 18 pound cat... and I am out for 1-3 hours for my Sunday nap!
