Tuesday Morning with Tori

I enjoy my mornings with my baby girl. We have tea time together however I drink coffee, we do puzzles, we play outside, we read books, we watch Barney or Blues Clues and we watch mommy type on the computer. I figure the latter is teaching her tech and admin skills for later on in life. This helps minimize the guilt that I am working (or blogging) instead of giving her my undivided attention.

This morning my little darling awoke rather early…5:38 a.m. to be exact. Now that she is in a big girl bed it gives her access to the rest of the house. So she climbs out and wakes up big sister Skyler (they share a room). They in turn laugh and play which granted is much better than fighting but their loud voices ring through the hallway waking everyone else in the house.

Since my precious pumpkin decided to start her day so early she was quite the crab when it came to mommy time (aka—other kids off to school, daddy gone, subsequently only mommy left).

I left her to have some alone time with Barney while I grabbed some admin time on the computer and when I return to check on her this is what I found.

My little mop top fast asleep. She remained zonked on the living room floor for an hour and a half.

How come she can get up so early and nap whenever and wherever she wants yet the rest of us who involuntarily got up so early have to press through and remain pleasant natured til bed time? Just doesn’t seem fair!

She's soooooooo cuuuuuuuuute.

An hour and a half nap, huh? Alex rarely, if ever, naps. You are one lucky mama.

By the way, as I've learned from comments on one of my recent posts, giving children alone time while you blog and do "admin" stuff does indeed help foster a child's imagination. :-)

Isn't there a country song that says, "breakfast 6, naps at 9?" My kids pull that occassionally too, makes for a long day for mama!

That's adorable! I think the rule should be that moms get to sleep whenever their youngest ones are asleep. Everything gets put on hold. Not too practical, but I try to make it happen sometimes.

And, your mornings with your youngest sound so special. My time with Daniel is so much more enjoyable because I savor it. I liked being with the other boys at that age too, but I couldn't see an end to it...

Oh, but that doesn't mean I don't blog and put him in front of the tv. A lot! :)

She is so adorable... mine is sleeping away this morning so no complaints here! I wondered if I was the only one who felt guilty for blogging when Abigail is awake.

Yep, true but remember life isn't fair. Believe me I know that one for sure.

What a cutie pie!!

Is that a rug or is your carpet the long shaggy stuff? When I was picking our carpet out I wanted my bedroom to have the long stuff. It looks so cozy. I never did get it though.

Such cute pictures! My kids pull that one on me all the time--up at 5:30 (that is so wrong!) and then super tired by 11 am or so. And I probably could take naps when they do, but I just always seem to have other things to get done!

HOw adorable is she? And I totally get it... I have often tried to take a nap after the kids are up... to no avail... to much to get done in that "quiet" time... bummer!

That picture is so cute!

Don't ya just love it when your kids wake up so early. It makes for a long day! I try and nap every once in awhile too when my daughter takes her naps.

I agree I love the times I spend with my kids too.

How can all of you mom's have such cute kids? I wish I could be there to help you, but since I can't I will take a nap in your honor (anyday, anytime) What's a real friend for anyway? Shoot, my baby is 18. She used to get up every single day at 5am, hmmmm...it's finally my turn to sleeppppppppppppppppppppp.
Was that mean?

One question, is that little cutie drinking chocolate milk or coffee with cream? hehehe

C-o-f-f-e-e, coffee is not for me.
It's a drink some people wake up with.
That it makes them nervous is no mythe.
Slaves to a coffee cup.
They can't give coffee up.

...just a little song I learned in the sixth grade.

GINGER!!! You HAVE to get your girls to video you singing that coffee song and post it on your blog! PLEEEEEEEEEASE!!!

It is actually a smigeon roobios tea which is very healthy, mostly milk and a touch of honey. She loves it.

Amy it is a large rug covering up my very ugly lv carpet. We rent so I can't change the carpet.

Karen, I am a working mom....occasionaly. :-)

Me too Michelle. I just had to give up some of my PAYING jobs in order to homeschool my 8th grader this year--(slightly resentful, but it'll smooth out)
