Blake is our Star Wars fan. Yesterday we celebrated his 5th b-day by having 13 of his friends and classmates to our Planet for a SW party.
Upon arrival the little Padawans each received their own lightsaber for their training to become Jedi Knights. Their training started with an Asteroid hunt (treasure hunt) and the Padawan to find and free the droids in the asteroid field would receive special honors (a prize).
From there they helped Master Yoda find his lightsaber (pin the lightsaber on Yoda). And onto lightsaber training using the Force to keep the balloons airborne. After a small training break to refuel with a special SW cake training resumed with the bomb toss (water balloon toss) with the goal not to drop the bomb and be covered in Jabba slime (water).
Their training was almost complete but first the Death Star must be destroyed (break the pinata that Queen Michelle made using her elementry school teaching techniques...paper mache). With the Rebel forces destroyed Luke Skywalker (b-day boy) received a transmission that Darth Vadar (Grandpa Ron) was still alive and he had captured Princess Leia (Skyler). The Padawans would not be stopped now. They dueled with DV til his doom and freed Princess Leia. Each Padawan returned to their own planet after receiving their honors (party packs) and earning the title of Jedi Knight.

What a super-mom you are!!! LOVE the papier mache Death Star. LOVE it! And I think your slide show was fantastic. Happy B-Day to you little man!
Oh my gosh it looks like he had a fun birthday party.
He would get along real well with my Derek (8yr old son).
Derek has most all of those Star Wars movies too as well as a couple of Light Saver Swords too.

While Alex (who noticed he has the same X-Wing fighter) was drooling over the Star Wars goodies, I was drooling over that chocolate cake.
Fantastic party, Michelle. Great slide show too. It almost felt as if I was right there with you and all those children.

How could I miss the chocolate cake? I did notice the cool sun glasses though! It's my job. Oh no, I'm choosing work over my love of food! GREAT party, what fun! As my 21 year old continues to say, "You are the bomb.com!"

Seriously, I'm impressed--that looked like so much work, but SO much fun for the kids!
I must give credit where credit is due...Queen Jackie and Darth Vadar (Grandma & Grandpa) were a HUGE help with party preparations and during the party. So much so that I've decided to align grandparent visits with all my children's b-day parties. :-)
Apparently, Superman is big in the States now not Star Wars thus all the Superman attire.
Awesome! The party will surely be one of those memorable ones. Blake will refer back to it in the years to come, and it's usually quite funny how the kids remember things when they are 14 and 15 years old. Woohoo!
Michelle you've said in previous comments that you and I are alike...similarities end here. I would dream of such a plan and then I would realize the amount of work it would be and we'd go to Chuck E. Cheese with just our fam.

That looked like a great party but I have to be honest - the whole time I was looking at those pictures all I could think was - I CANT WAIT TO WEAR SUMMER CLOTHES!!!

Heidi, I think it just shows you are wiser than me.
My son Hunter will be turning 6 in July and LOVES Star Wars. I have to admit that I have never been a Star Wars fan so I know nothing about it. Hunter's cousin has Star Wars games and toys so that is how he has learned all about it. Hunter would love to see one of the movies but I have no idea if any are age appropriate for him. Any suggestions?
BTW the party looks awesome! I, like Heidi, dream of throwing parties like this but usually just stay on the small side. I think I will use some of your ideas for Hunter's party this summer though. He watched the video with me and could hardly hold back his excitement to see all of the Star Wars decorations, costumes, etc!

Geeze, that is amazing. You should write a small manual on how to do children's parties..I'm already getting concerned about Isabelle's 1st..so many expectations! :) Did you make the cake yourself too??

OK, it's almost like you live at our house. Half the time we are all in Star Wars costumes!! I'm sure our kids would get along famously. :)
