"Say Cheese"

I thought I might attempt to creatively describe what an arduous process it is to capture the Franzen Family photo but as they say, a picture is worth a 1,000 words. Here a few of the MANY photos (70+) exemplifying my point.

Needless to say, our 2 days were filled with much hairspray, lots of bribes, sweets galore and an occasional raised voice. The final outcome, as my husband titles it, the best of Franzen Family 06.

By the way, we only endure this kind of pain once a year so I hope you like the picture….it may be on your Christmas card.

That's so great... now that we have Ethan, I am sure our process will be much like that!

It's so amazing to see these kids growing!!

I wish there was audio behind those pictures. I'd love to hear what was going on. If it's anything like our family, there are nice, calm pleas to the kids to cooperate and then it escalates to....well.....threats and loud voices :-)

The final pic is beautiful. I just can't get over how big your kids are and I've never met the baby. What a beauty!

Gorgeous family! We don't do very many family photos... the last one we did for church was HORRIBLE. We were all fighting beforehand, my hair looked terrible (sorry about the vanity) and Kate WOULD NOT smile. Needless to say, the picture is hiding somewhere and will never be framed. At least it was free! : )

I completely understand why you would only choose a family photo shoot once a year. It is "arduous". That's the best word in our language to describe it. In my opinion though, from the images you did post on the site, I would say you had a pretty successful shoot.

Oh, in advance, thanks for the Christmas card a couple of months before the Holidays. I plan on renting a family from Brooklyn for the day and have pictures taken in front of their row house adorned with color lights and a nativity scene. Look for it around December.

Had to stop by again just to read the Stolmit comment . . . so hilarious—worth the second visit! :)
