The World of Sport

In the blink of an eye it was over and not one picture posted capturing the event…..Until now….

Upon entry of Grade 1, the world of school sport was opened to my Sport’s Boy and there is no stopping him. The fall sport of choice was a new one for all of us but Blake embraced cricket with great excitement.

I won’t share my initial thoughts of the sport; let it suffice to say that I find it quite interesting. And no matter how silly I thought the uniforms were/are, when my skinny boy appeared dressed in his oversized white shorts, collared polo shirt, navy knee-length socks and a wide brimmed (fairy) hat, I thought he was the cutest thing on the planet…well minus the hat.
Here is an action shot…

And a buddy shot..

I love how the knee high socks remained at their ankles.

His last match was yesterday, not sure where the time went but it is over. Apparently, they pick up again with cricket in the spring so the money I spent on the (ridiculous) uniform will be worn again….actually the shorts are so big they will be worn for at least another 2 years.

Blake is finished with Cricket and now onto this………

Rugby, a familiar sport and one Bay embraces with great passion….and thankfully no hat!

He looks so intense in that last picture!

And I love the action shot--too cute!

So fun to have a sports-lovin' boy!

I love the pictures! I agree with you on the hat. Def. not very boyish looking. Cooper is just getting into sports and can't wait to start soccer in the fall. This summer is T-ball and he wants to be a "famous football player". As tiny as he is......he would be safer being the water boy but I won't tell him that!!! I love having a boy!!!

Too funny - yeah especially the hat.
Well I know two boys that weren't into sports and one girl who truly was - so I guess Blake takes after his mom Michelle.

Those pictures are awesome!!

I once learned a variation of cricket taught by a fellow PE teacher. She was doing an inservice for us trying to encourage us to incorporate some new and different skills into our classes. It didn't make a lot of sense to me and she said the real game would make much less sense! HA! Needless to say, I never taught it to my students! :D

Rugby, huh? I can't wait to see those pictures!!

I wanted to ask if you were able to download the Lenten activity book - let me know if you couldn't.

way too cute. And I love your commentary. And I wish we were closer and that flights were less expensive and that i was rich. ( AS in money. not your husband - I don't want to be a man). Seems a shame that we are on the same continent but yet so far away...
