Honesty

As most of you know Rich is in America right now…eating great food, shopping, seeing precious friends and family….I am not bitter at all.

The kids and I pray for him everyday. Today on the way to school Blake wanted to pray for Daddy. It went something like this….

“Lord help daddy’s meetings to go well and keep him safe and help him to come back soon (at this point I was thinking… ‘Such a sweet boy’). He continued… “And help him to bring me back lots of presents from America.” Now I am thinking—‘so boy’! At least he is honest!

Just had a thought…maybe I should pray like that and perhaps a beautiful gift wrapped in red paper with a white bow from Red Envelope would arrive on my door step! (HINT HINT Rich).

I'm usually thrilled with a over-sized card from the grocery store. Valentine's is over-rated.

Isn't life different being a single parent? I know I am capable of it, because I do so much of the everyday care anyway...but not having daddy there to get rowdy with, or to ask questions about school, or to have adult conversation with...

I am sure you are all missing him much!

That is a beautiful picture!

Rich- I sure hope you take your wife's cue here. If you don't you will certainly be in trouble...At least that's what would happen in my house:-)

The last gift I got from my husband was a diamond heart necklace on Valentine's Day 2005. The last gift before that one was a pair of diamond stud earrings in 1999. If the pattern holds, I should expect a diamond something in 2011. I'm letting him slide because it's diamonds.

Cute and so typical of Blake hey? I hope Rich takes your cue Michelle and you get the Red Envelope.
All I have to say is wishful thinking. But then who knows maybe your Dad will surprise me too.

Does Rich know how to get ahold of Michelle Arnold? She probably knows if she has something she is willing to part with by now and is willing to sell for a price from Red Envelope. She could just mail it directly to you. It would save Rich a real hassle with gift buying.
Wait a minute, who's side am I on...He needs to shop himself just like all our other husbands :)
Beautiful little guy, by the way!

I must fess up. Rich is a very thoughtful and generous guy. No diamonds or online ordering...he's more of a last minute guy but definitely buys me nicer things than I would ever buy for myself.

(Hoping if R**h is reading this it causes him to want to really go all out this V-day or forget V-day..our anniversary is right around the corner....shhh!)

I hear your husband is here in my town, should I track him down and drop a little hint? :)

Hope you and your kids are doing okay without him over there!

Michelle- the 'hint' dropped on my blog is being misunderstood I think.

I was referring to not needing rules of conduct or mis-conduct UNTIL it gets out of control like yours did with the the ASS cake!

I hope my commentors keep it clean, but with you, Karen, and Ginger hanging around ya just never know! :-)

Okay, how did we get a reputation, Michelle? We are two very nice women, right? We don't talk smack, as Beth would say. We love our husband and our kids. We cherish our dear friends. The list really could go on and on. So I enjoy a good piece of assorted cake and you enjoy photographing it. Come on...I blame the whole thing on that blasted turtle in NY!

I think I'm taking it all back. I just read what you put on Shanygne's Xanga. You are the "fun" blogger? You are so naughty!
Let's have lunch. When can we meet??????? I feel like we already have:)

Oh my goodness, people! Can't we just blog without bringing up the a** cake again?!

Oh no, please don't ever stop bringing up the a** cake. It gets me to giggling every single time! I don't blog, but you guys sure bring me naughty entertainment.
Still waiting on Rich to call....the kids ask every morning if he stopped by the night before. Have a little something for S,B,T and you too! Miss you guys!!

Okay I am putting down some rules NO MORE mention of the "assorted" cake...I innocently tried to depict my life in Africa and look how you guys have exploited it. :-)

Heidi I need some help here....and hey, why was my name mentioned with the "naughty" girls?

Okay truce Ginger, let's blame it on the turtle....or Karen. hee

Shonna--like I mentioned my boy is last minute. He'll call.

Michelle, it's a deal. We both have reputations to uphold. We both love a good time, but it's time to end the story hear. Eventually a new story will pop up. Until then, we shall continue to laugh at our kids and our own lives. Thanks for all the fun. I'm still waiting for that lunch.

I seem to remember that last year we had a weekend away at one of the nicest hotels in Joberg, stayed in a suite next to where Brad Pitt always stays when in Africa. And if any one knows me I always have my basis covered even when away!! Faithfully Rich

I've been meaning to ask you what kind of tree your handsome little guy standing under. I love the color. Was the photo taken in South Africa?

michelle said...

I have no idea what kind of tree...you've revealed my 'non'-green thumb. It was taken in SA in my backyard kuddos to Marci D (purposedtrek) and for my site photos.

We have some beautiful foliage in our yard(obviously all planted by someone other than me. I always say it is my favorite "room" in the house.

Hey, let him know that if his schedule gets too tight we could drive over to TM to see him too! The kids are just beside themselves that the rest of you aren't here and staying down in your end of the house! :)

I have zippo gardening skills as well. We just moved in to a house that's beautifully landscaped, and I'm afraid I'm going to kill all the flowers, shrubs and trees. The only things still thriving are the weeds.

Well, Michelle, now you'll need to let us know what Rich did for you for V-Day. I've got my expectations high (for you, that is) after his comment.
