A date I once feared; a journey now celebrated... Her special day started in a special way. We joined the international teams here and our local church in a blanket give away to those in Kya Sands informal settlement...
After our morning in the rain the diversion began.
Lunch with mom and a manicure..
...meanwhile our very talented and gracious interns (Sarah and Cori) were at the house painting a scripture on Sky's bedroom wall (a long time wish of Sky's)...
Later Rich and I took Sky for a special dinner...
Such a beautiful gift...one that moved her (and her mother) to tears.....
Sky My, we are so proud of the amazing young woman you are!!

Congratulations to all of you.
What a beautiful way to celebrate a very special day. Happy Birthday, Skyler!
Lovely. So glad and thankful and happy for you all.
I honestly cannot even remember back to our oldest turning into a teenager.
The idea of the purity ring was something she and Alicia chose to do all on their own before their dad was able to walk them through it. Such a beautiful thing.
I loved the teenage years with my kids and I hope you find it to be as great as I did. As you know the last one was a bit rough as she left her teens and entered her 20's, but all in all it was a blessed time in my life.
