True Colors

Recent Conversation...

Blake: "What color is your hair?"

Me: "Well that is hard to say!"

Skyler: "It is really brown but she paints it blonde."

Blake (confused): "You paint your hair?"

Me: "Well, I guess you could say it that way."

Satisfied Blake scampered off with a mischievous look in his eye.

I think it would be wise to move all the paint cans in the garage to a higher level.

Ahhhh, it's only hair. Just think how great he's gonna look when he gets that tattoo that says, "MOM", hehe.

I'm planning on hitting the Cheesecake Factory with you in Chicago someday. I mean it! You have to come back to visit at some point in your life and Chicago is just a stones throw away. Hey, next year my kids will be married and living there...Lord willing!

OH, I'm so glad to hear that I'm not the only one who has kids who question the color of their mom's hair!

By the way, love your hair. Very cute. And blond.

HAHAH That is great! Lily tells me that my hair is blond AND black. That is how I know it is time to do my roots :-)

All I can say is at least you don't have a four-year-old wondering when the next baby is going to come out! When we came home from the hospital, Henry asked me that (after seeing that my tummy wasn't quite as small as it used to be!).

Good thinking moving the paint out of reach! :)

Ging, I'd love to do Chi-town with you!!!

I love it when you can see the thinking gears turning in your kids' heads. Smart idea, move the paint! Hey Ging, love the new profile pic! I still have to figure out how to get mine on here!

HA! That is excellent.

I am SOOOO in need of a hair paint. And my girl can't get me in for almost a MONTH! Oh, the torture of my true hair color- the mousy brown roots mixed w/ grey... not pretty. Not pretty at all.

So...what color is Blake's hair today?

Heidi Jo Comes said...

ya know the hairstylist asks me that same question, "what is your natural color"....

wwweeellll, ya see..it naturally changed back with the first baby, so i tried to un-change it chemically, then summer came and i realized that maybe the bleaching out was natural, but i'd gotten used to the darker look and i've always dreamed of being a red-head, so with a few home mixes i came to the point i'm at today...can you help me?

I started turning grey when I was 14 and so have been coloring my hair for a long time. I have almost no natural color left. One day while coloring my hair in the bathroom, my 3 yr old asked what I was doing. I told her. She then asked if she could color her hair. I asked her what color she wanted her hair to be....Green...her fav color. My response, Uh, No! (of course) She was cool with that.

I'm waiting for her to start using markers or finger paint to color her hair. I now try to color mine when the kids are in bed. I don't want to give them any ideas.
