..........not much of a story with this one, well there is but its purpose today is to bring my blog back to a G-rating. So what is your favorite G-movie and when last did you see it?
Sound of Music. It's been awhile, but I have this friend, who has THREE children, AND she's a CHRISTIAN... and she has NEVER seen it. She is also from the United States. As I was expressing my disbelief, I sid, "But you know the songs, right? Doe a deer..?" And she said, "nope. I don't even know what it's about." So I explained it - oh I explained it, WELL. she says she was too in to Basketball..... I HATE this state...
Thank You Lord, I woke up this morning and I really am back in Kansas! G-rated! Love it! I loved the Wizard of Oz as a kid. It was the only time I could stay home from church on Sunday night. How funny is that. When my girls finally saw it they thought I was nuts. I also loved Willy Wonka, my kids liked that one, although Willy scared one of my girls. I will forever love the Sound of Music :) (no quotation marks, I'm so proud of myself)
I have seen both The Wizard of Oz and The Sound of Music, but the G-rated movie I saw recently (as in just last night...and probably every night until my 3-year-old outgrows it) was The Many Adventures of Winnie-the-Pooh.
Like Ginger, I am relieved that this blog is back to being G-rated again. (phew)
Smooth move, Michelle. Nice way to bring it back! My favorite G movies are CARS (loved it), ICE AGE, GRINCH-with Jim Carey, and MOSTERS, INC. And I also love HOODWINKED, especially since the writers and producers are our very own ORU alumni and friends... Mark Keefer, Cory Edwards, Tony Leech, etc.
I LOVE Mary Poppins, and now thankfully so do my children! I also love all of the "old" family Disney Movies...like "Hot Lead, Cold Feet" & "The Apple Dumpling Gang". I thought CARS was fantastic and Ice Age 1 & 2.
Those are great costumes...same question as candi though-?
We just like dressing up for the fun of it. Actually, we did a Wizard of Oz theme for Sky's last b-day. Grandma was here for it (she's the lion) so we went a bit over the top.
That is the cutest picture! I used to LOVE the Wizard of Oz, but then all of a sudden I wasn't allowed to watch it anymore. That was the same time in my life where my mom made us throw out all the owl and frog decorations in our house because they were demon-possessed. Ahhh! The church teachings of the 70's!
I'm so relieved for the explanation of why you guys were dressed up... I was going to demand one if it hadn't already appeared. Favorite G-rated movie is Meet me in St. Louis. I used to watch this over and over and over as a kid. Love the trolly song!
This is a hard question to answer. But I just saw the newest Lassie movie. I think it was released in 2002. Peter O'Toole stars. Michelle, this movie carries such an endearing message and is a real tear-jerker. If you've not yet sat and watched it with the kids do. I promise you will enjoy it.
Karen your comment cracked me up. He is supposed to be 'the Wizard' he doesn't look like it because 1)we live in Africa and they don't have Walmart to help with costume needs and 2)we had to twist his arm to even get that much on him.
Tori 'the Tinman' had a complete outfit too but she was quite uncooperative.
I forgot our favorite G movies. We also loved CARS, Madagascar, The Incredibles, and of course both Toy Stories. We have tons of the old Disney's...Ladie and the Tramp, Peter Pan, etc. But Jay and I totally loved Hoodwinked. Also because of the producers, but we loved the music and humor. This weekend we saw Flushed Away and was pleasantly surprised. Don't know why it didn't do well?
I hope it's not too late to add that I like "Bedknobs and Broomsticks," "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang," "Mary Poppins," and "Curious George." I last saw all of those about a week ago :-)
I don't watch G-rated movies. Only ones with cuss words in them. I missed my chance to write something in your ass post, so I had to fit this in somewhere.
Debbie Woolsey...oops I don't thing we are supposed to use surnames...oh well...we aren't supposed to cuss on a G-rated blogs either. :-)
I saw your comments on Michelle's blog and am flattered that mine is also Woolsey worthy. You can cuss on my blog anytime...just try to control yourself.
You need to start a blog! My boy, Rich is missing your boy, Bruce. (okay that didn't sound very good did it?!)
And I have a C-mas card for you in a pile with ones for Sohailah, Brett Louis, and Chris Abeyta. How do I get contact info for you, since this was Bruce's job back in December and I'm still waiting!?
Oh, and, I do have a blog, but I've been shy about sharing it. It's mainly a family update for the grandparents, so it can get quite dull for friends. But, I just opened it up to everyone, I think. You should be able to look at my profile and access the blog now.
Okay Deb I tried your blog but it said I was not an 'invited' party so was denied access. THen I tried your email but I only have one for Bruce so I sent the info. to him. I hope that helps. :-)
Rich's mom is headed over Feb 9 so you can send the card to her if you would like...save you on cost and it would actually get here quicker than sending it direct.
OK-so Debbie doesn't know me, but I knew Bruce from my first TM trips in 88-91. Tell him I said Hi! I should have known anyone who married him would be driven to cussing. :) I'm totally joking!!!!

You guys are so cute! Was this from back at Halloween - or do you guys just do this for a fun Friday night? South African Friday tradition?

We love "Cars" at our house and watch it at least once a week! Your costumes were so cute--what a fun and memorable birthday!

btw, who is Rich dressed to be? One of the flying monkeys? Cuz those things really freaked me out when I was little.

Hey... where's my card??? Bruce and Terry (Hochstedler) know each other. (Sorry Michelle--my bad on comment etiquette).
