Blog Tag

Some of you may be thinking I did not know there was such a ‘game’. Well I didn’t either until 2 days ago when I was tagged by the everyday mom. Apparently in this cyberspace game one has to divulge 5 things not commonly known about them. This could prove a difficult task as I feel my life is an open book, I am pretty forthright....I am who I am, take it or leave it. *Okay that one was for free….

….well here goes….

  1. I am an avid bargain hunter. I mean I love it! I get a thrill from finding a good deal…and a buy-one get-one free deal puts me over the top (I am a marketer’s dream)! Yes, while living in America I was a coupon user…I actually bought the Sunday newspaper for the coupon section (and the TV guide). I may have occasionally (often) spread out all the grocery store sale ads and made separate lists indicating bargains to be found at each. Yep, then I would occasionally (often) make trips to each store to obtain my bargains, all the while my husband would reiterate the fact that I was spending more on gas than actually saving on my bargains. Some call it frugal, even cheap I choose to call it stewardship….okay or dysfunctional.
  2. When I was 5 years old (give or take a year) despite my parents many warnings to not ride my big wheel down our rather steep driveway, I decided I would give it a try. The result- I came to a crashing halt…literally, my big wheel collided with an oncoming car. From that day forth I have never questioned the authenticity of guardian angels.
  3. I once gave my boss a proposal detailing why I needed a laptop computer. Only throughout the entire document I wrote ‘lab top’. The sad part is I really thought it was called a ‘lab top’. If it could get any sadder, my boss was (still is) the CEO of the company.
  4. I tend to lean toward the traditional, old-fashioned beliefs when it comes to dating…guy asks girl out, guy calls girl..etc. This stems from my very traditional mother who still believes dresses are to be worn to church and actually only started wearing jeans period, within the last 10 years. So mom, do not read any further……I abandoned my traditional beliefs when I initiated Rich and I’s first kiss. (insert ‘gasp’ here)
  5. I often have this vivid daydream that I am singing onstage, in tune, aloud with all my favorite music artists. I recently got my first big break onstage. I was in front of an audience of 2,000 performing my talent! I inserted a picture for you…

……I am the one with the pink hair and it was a crowd of 2,000 children. Oh, one day!

*Actually my ‘freebee’ is false. I wish I had such a carefree attitude but truth be told I care about what people think. In fact my primary love language is “words of affirmation” so commenter’s go easy on me. Michelle, is there a special prize for divulging 6 things opposed to the required 5?

I now tag Gayla, Mitch ....and Michelle to reveal her lingering 3!

i mean, i just learned more about you in one quick read than i ever knew! blogging...bringing the world together. yes, i'm in mexico...as a missionary. never really thought that would happen, but it just kinda snuck up on me. i'm doing work in a red light district on the border. i've been here for 2 years all by my lonesome! i spent the first 15 months just prayerwalking. really. then friendships slowly started building. now...well, now it's just fantastic. God is sending a long-term team my way come february. hallelujah. i just started a blog about it, so you can read it (if you want) at www.boystownreynosa.blogspot.com.

That was great! Thanks for playing the game :-) I also think you rock because you initiated you and Rich's first kiss. How funny is that!

I will not, under any circumstances, divulge my initial 3! I know better. I can't wait to see Mitch's though! I hope he does it!

You so totally cracked me up!! Except for the big wheel incident—my goodness!! How did your mother hold up under that one?! Amazing!

That's my girl! I even found out some things about you I didn't know (should I insert the gasp here?) I'm glad you learned and held onto some of those traditional values.
Yes, how did I survive that big wheel incident?! And how did I survive those teen age years. You have those to look forward to.

Oh, I mean Oh boy! Why she never shared some of this coupon thing is because she is afraid.. oh well, all my kids never would shop Walmart or Kmart for clothes bargains. They always had to have name brand stuff and cut coupons - never! I was the the bargain hunter and still am. Millie is too. Millie cuts coupons all the time. Our glove compartment is filled with them and most of them become out dated - coupons are a curse! They eat up your time, waste your gas and you leave them in your pocket at the check out register anyway! Nuts on coupons. Now, love is a different thing from coupons. you can save a lot of time if you just do it, kiss that is, and not wait. Initiation is not required. I lived through being the initiator stuff...no more to be said about that (mom might read this) except I guess I was in love. But I'm glad you are a bargain hunter - chip off the old block! Talk to you later, Chip!

If it makes you feel better, I did not gasp...I choked! Just kidding...I think that is awesome...maybe that is what I am doing wrong - guys are so nervous these days around girls that are, what do they call me: intimidating, ambitious, yada yada...too bad they don't realize I would walk away from any career for a life like yours, Beth's, Shanygne's, Molly's, Michelle's...a cute, God-loving hubby, and fun adorbable children...SIGH...

Hilarious...
I love the lab top story. I had an intern a few years back that wanted to "e-mail" someone paperwork and a brochure but not because they were electronic documents but rather she thought the E stood for Express =)

If I revealed my top 3, no one would even believe me...

Although I know very little about you to begin with I still had fun reading your list. Wasn't this fun...leave it to Michelle! I love the lab top story, sounds like something I would have done. By the way, I've always dreamed of singing in some sort of famous fashion. I had some real abilities in my youth, but I'm pretty sure they all left during childbirth or something :) I guess that's why I sing at the top of my lungs while I drive my car and I'm all alone.

HEY - I STILL buy the Sunday paper for the coupons and the TV guide - it's simply common sense!
