Chip off the Old Block

Thought I would share a few random ramblings about “Dad” from my 5 year old son.

Blake: “When I grow up I am going to have a truck just like Dads. I even want the words on it like his.”

Interpretation: Rich drives our ministry vehicle and the “words” are the Impact Africa logo.

Blake: “When I grow up people are going to call me “Richard” like my Dad”.

Interpretation: “Richard” is also Blake’s first name. I guess the name “Blake” is only for children.

And my personal favorite……

Blake: “When I grow up I hope I have those little “white” hairs like my Dad.”

Interpretation: You guessed it; those “white” hairs are the grey coming through.

So glad “Dad” is the grey, OLD block in this family!

Don't you just love that he sees his daddy as his hero? How sweet!

that is precious...my son wanted to be an engineer like his daddy until he discovered that he wasn't an engineer that drove a train.

what a bummer.

Of course he is a super hero! Look at his hat, he is SUPER DAD!!! I love it when kids look up to their parents, gray hair and all. It makes you feel like no matter how much trouble they get into and scolded for it, they love you unconditionally.

Oh! So precious. Between Rich's grey hair and your painted hair, your kids have a lot of inspiration. :-)

So very sweet. I love to talk to little kids and find out what they want to be when they grow up. I think Amanda wants to be a dr. or a garbage truck driver. She loves both. Hey, as long as she's happy, she can be almost (ALMOST) anything. :0)

Rich is getting grey, huh? Hey, happens to the best of us, especially right now at our ages. You should see me!

Rich looks good though. Great kids you have, Michelle.

How cute and what a tribute to Rich. See he doesn't even have to be concerned about the small white hairs coming through - they add character.
He's a cutie for sure and Rich is one great Dad.
